Here's a HUGE shout-out, especially to high contributors!

Through the months and years I've been hangin' out here at Korg Forums, I've noticed something I've been wanting to say for awhile. While MANY I've learned from, a few stand out- continually! And those we all know whom contribute their knowledge and help in seemingly every thread! I don't want to single anyone out, though I'm supremely tempted! I think we all know whom they are! Even the one(s) from other dinasoured and shadowed-over categories that STILL treat their categories diligently to keep them current and up to date! I wish I could serve more, but time restricts me. I'll try to when time permits more dedication! I've noticed all of you and appreciate you! Here's to you!- T.

Yeah, I agree. This forum does seem to be just chock full of people ready and willing to help all us newbies (and even the not so newbies). And it seems notably absent of many of the damaged personalities I see in lots of other forums through all kinds of subject matter. As a friend of mine once said to me, "Life is too short to waste any of it dealing with a$$holes."

Well done....

We had some but they ran off eventually. I'm not sure if that says something good or something bad about us :)

One thing that helps this forum over other is that it's VERY specific to Korg so there aren't many fanboyz trolling. We also have a few people from Korg here that are as helpful as could be. We're all newbs at some point and there's always an opportunity to learn something new, no matter how experienced we may be.

I live way out in the country and i could not get my hands on a KRONOS to try it out.
I relied on this forum and utube videos.
I had very specific needs of what i needed KRONOS to do.
The utube videos did not address all of what i needed to know.
The folks here on the forum were happy to supply the info i needed.
The good info i recieved here played a part in choosing KRONOS.
Best synth i have ever had!
Many thanks forum.

I think the four best forums I frequent are (In order of joining them), in terms of friendliness, helpful info and very few trolls are
  • EX5Tech for the mighty EX5
  • Nord G2 Forum for the awesome G2 Modular synth
  • Yamaha Forums for all things Yamaha (and them some)
  • and of course, Korg Forums, where my interest is mainly the Kronos sub-board. :)
All these forums are friendly and valuable resources of information, and, compared to other forums, are remarkably free of idiots, free of intolerance to newbies, and generally good places all around due to the people who frequent them. I help moderate two of those forums, so appreciate the time and effort that goes into helping forums run smoothly. Fortunately for me, the forums I do help look after are mostly self moderating, and the bigger effort is helping people when you can. :)

As I get to know the Kronos better, I can contribute a little more when I can, and hope to do so in the future as well, as it is good to put into a forum as well as taking from it! :)

Same same!

Most of the time I'm not sure of he answer; but I was able to help here and there.

Which is kind of funny because when I first got my Kronos, I had to learn everything almost from scratch. Now things are really starting to make sense.

All due to the generosity from members on this board.

Once I also was a big contributor, but lately due to time shortage I rather develop PCG Tools, which I probably serve the community more than replying messages.

I notice that everybody helps each other as much as possible. When I need some help, mostly I get it, and I try to help others too in cases possible.

The fact that the moderators keep everything running well and even some Korg employees are participating is really positive.

Without Korg my app would not be so well known and my knowledge of Korg would be much less.

Your app makes you one of the biggest contributors of all. I hope you realize that!

Ok, Ill just say it, I love this forum.

Iv ‘e tried to find people in my area to exchange ideas and talk music and keyboards. And I can’t find any!
This forum gives me a sense of community that I used to get when I played in bands back in the 80's.
So to all here, those experts that give invaluable help, to those who create awesome sounds and programs, and to those that just give their opinions, and like to talk about music,
I Thank You.

I relied heavily on these forums to make a decision on the best keyboard / synth / workstation to buy, having absolutely no idea what I was doing.

I would like to thank everyone who posts and replies. Thanks to you all I now own what I feel is a truly inspirational magical music making box, and I look forward to years of astonishment at what can be achieved.

Cheers.

I love the information I get from this forum. I help out where I can, but sometimes with my schedule, by the time I have time to respond to threads, one of the other members has already posted.

It's definitely the only instrument forum I still regularly read. All of the other ones I ever visit (Pearl Drum Forum, DSI Forum, Roland Clan) are either ghost towns most of the time, or just aren't as interesting on a day to day basis.
