Editor 3.1 Moving Programs

Post by GRISWOLD3 »

Hi All - does anyone know how to move a program in the Editor between 2 banks & keep all program references to Combis???

I know about copy & pasting within the Editor but this loses combi references.
I also know I can drag & drop within a single bank which retains the combi references. However moving a program to a different bank while maintaining combi references eludes me.

Thanks for your help,
Larry

I think I have no choice but to use Swap between the different bank.

1. Choose Select All by Bank Editor of the PROG mode and choose Copy (to Clipboard).
2. Choose Bank in other same Bank Type. And choose Select All and choose Swap (from Clipboard).

Use PCGtools instead. That does move programs without issues and keeps the references to Combi's and setlists etc.

I am not using the Kronos pc editor at all. For me too slow and too many problems since it became available. But I might be biased..

Thanks for mentioning PCG Tools (you can download it via the link in my signature below).

Moved programs/combis will be automatically synchronized with combis/set lists they are used in. I'm working on the same for wave sequences (and later drum kits/programs too).

Thanks for the responses.

I have just installed PCG tools and will give it a shot. Add it to the list of one more thing I need to learn to accommodate my big baby the Kronos. What will he want next - warm milk before bed???

Now if we can only get PCG tools for the Mac, it would be La Dolce Vita!

For the editor, I'll just update the instructions for clarity

1. Select the program you want to move
2. Right click and choose "Copy" from the context menu
3. Go to the bank you would like to move the program to
4. Select the new location
5. Right click and choose "Swap" from the context menu

The editor will swap the two programs and make all of the required reference adjustments to Set Lists, Combis, and Songs.

Assuming the editor is synced to the Kronos, it will also simultaneously update the contents of the instrument.
