Two Tier Stand
Hi Fellas,
I had a "discussion" with my wife about my keyboards cluttering an extra room we have. Can anyone recommend a two tier stand that will securely hold an Oasys on the bottom and a Kronos 61 on the top. I'm not worried about most stands supporting the Oasys But I'm worried about the top tier for the Kronos. Both keyboards won't leave the room.
Thanks
Frank

I have my Kronos 61 on the top of one of these. It's very solid and have never had a problem.

I use the K&M Spider Pro for band gigs, and the Baby Spider Pro for sit down gigs. Holds an RD700 on the bottom and a Kronos 61 on the top effectively, leaving plenty of room for pedals. They're also very good as you can adjust heights of the tiers to the millimetre.

I am happy with this one, both at home and for gigging. It is very stable

You can actually install 3 keyboards if needed, or 2 keyboards and a laptop, or 2 keyboards and a mic, if you invest in some additional options. I have all of those and use them on different occaisons
I had the Kronos88 as the lower and middle keyboard, with both goes fine

I currently have an A stand, which is reasonably sturdy, but less than in the beginning (Jaspers).
My next one will be a table-stand, from K&M.
Also take a look at Z-stands (Quicklok?).
And the above mentioned spider stands.
All have advantages and disadvantages.
Advantage A stand: looks cool, disadvantage: still big unless deassembled completely
Advantage table stand: rock-steady, disadvantage: less cool (subjective)
Advantage Z-stand: ?, never tried
Advantage spider stand: looks cool, compact/easy setup, disadvantage: no space for bigger foot pedals
Advantage X-stand: Easy to setup, mostly quite cheap, disadvantage: no space for bigger foot pedals
Mostly the second tier sturdiness does not really depend on the stand type, and in most cases depend on the quality of the stand.

I can confirm this. Those Behringer FCB1010's probably don't fit underneath the K&M Spider Pro's. I made a custom-made board and attached my 5 pedals on it (2 sustain, 1 volume, 2 switches), which fits exactly underneath the SpiderPromichelkeijzers wrote: Advantage spider stand: looks cool, compact/easy setup, disadvantage: no space for bigger foot pedals

Yes, I use that Behringer, and would love to use the spider stand from K&M. But I use 2 pedals and like 4 switches regularly, so even a homemade pedal board would probably be too big.AdDeRoo wrote:I can confirm this. I've been using the 'Standtastic' stands for years and once you've got it locked in, it's a fast set up. I know you mentioned that it will be stationary but thought I'd mention that. They also have a 3 tier unit. A K&M Spider model was also mentioned above. I don't have any personal experience with that one, but over on another forum, some users are complaining about the legs failing. Disclaimer...I have NO business interests in these companies.

The K&M Spiders are great. There was more to that story on the other forum than was first realised. Suffice to say they are a solid professional stand and K&M a fantastic company to deal with too.Falcon2e wrote:I've been using the 'Standtastic' stands for years and once you've got it locked in, it's a fast set up. Definitely NOT meaning to step on any toes in regards to K&M. I have K&M gear too, just passing on info.DaveKeys wrote:The K&M Spiders are great. Guys,
I have old school Ultimate X stands and Apex. What I don't like about the Apex is that it's hard to secure on the cart. I put my keyboards vertical and strap them in and the Apex is another thing that wants to fall off etc... I do like the X stands but the arms take a while to setup properly and they always seem to be a little off.
Other than the Z stand which looks like it takes a long time to setup and the K&M which looks like an Apex, is there anything else, quick to setup and can handle 2 keyboards that you like?
