Has anyone tried if the swappable firmware trick is possible with this upgrade?
Or if it's possible to downgrade to an earlier version?

I don't really understand your question Are you running the microbrute through the audio input of the E2? If so you need to put external oscillator for the part you are using the mini brute on. Also if you don't know this, you could set 2 or more parts as oscillator in and use different insert ...

I think that that will stop the internal sequencer from sounding, but not the tone generator section. That will still respond to midi and play when I don't want it to. I tried on my e2 with the same oscillator and it seems to work as it should,

like I tried both in poly2 or poly1 mode, it's the same.
Have you tried in an empty pattern without motion sequences and ifx/mfx sends?
What's the version of your firmware?

Does anyone know how to edit the Pattern set pads in order to assign any pattern to any pad?
I assume it should be pretty straightforward but i couldn't find any solution on the manual.
I think I'm missing something very basic about this feature.
