I am shopping for a used Zero 8, but after reading through these forums I am hesitant. Are there still hiss and meter problems? Does the described volume solution work? I will be using this in a small home studio. I would recommend the Zero 8 for a home studio. I have been very happy with mine for ...

Hi. Sorry I have not been watching the messageboard for a while. I have Ableton, and use my AB buttons as clip launch/stop, and set them so they don't have to be pressed twice. I will check my Zero Edit settings for you when I get home later today.

Re: Help!

Hey guys, I'm just about to buy a Zero 8 and am a bit worried after reading this post, have any of the issues in the first post been resolved? To be honest my biggest worries are the headphone gains (I need my cues and monitors loud!) and the Master/Cue bus issues (don't want my Korg to be a Zero 7 ...

Re: Korg vs Ecler - Ecler won

Now I am happy owner of Ecler Evo-5. The sound is the best I have heard so far. no glitches at all. Glad to hear you are pleased now, even though I believe your sound quality issues were due to improper levels on your mixer and speakers. Regardless, I hope Korg will take notice of experiences like ...

Please try the following before you toss your mixer out. Connect turntables to Phono inputs on Zero mixer. Select Phono on one of your channels on the mixer. Turn the channel gain on that channel up to about 3 o'clock. Turn the gains/volume on your speakers way down. Play the record on your ...

It is possible to have the mixer send MIDI clock to Ableton and the software sync to the clock. However, this sync is not good enough to beatmatch for playing live to a crowd. You will need to manually beatmatch the music by controlling that MIDI clock data on the Korg. With my Zero 8, when the ...

Finding a store with a Zero 8 in stock is not very liekly. So finding a store with a Zero8 to test is even less likely.

The Xone 464 is great, but very large. The Xone 62 or 92 are more manageable in size, and the technology in the 92 is definitely ahead of the 464.

I now have the Mackie bag which I discussed earlier in this thread.

Every once in a while, when I turn on the Zero 8.... the mixer outputs this horrible screeching noise. I must turn off and reboot to solve it.

The hiss seems to be the result of poor matching between the Zero 8 Master/Booth Outputs and many common audio speakers/amps. Supposedly the Zero 8 is to output at +4dBu. But when I use this output and match it with my Mackie SRM-450 powered monitors which also accept a +4dBu signal.... I get lots ...

I forgot to mention that the Master and Headphone busses should be addressable by the soundcard.

That way you could use all 8 channels in MIDI mode with Ableton, yet still have separate Master Out and Headphone Cue.

I don't understand why everyone is having this problem?

My headphones get too loud. I would lose my hearing if I ran them as loud as they can go.

We must run these mixers hot. Channel gains turned up. Master volume at full.

I think if they could add one thing to make this mixer perfect for me, it would be more buttons. I would like to have a column of buttons next to each EQ on each channel. These could be used for clip launch or other stuff in Ableton Live. Have a look at Sasha's Maven controller sometime and you'll ...
