Having to hold mute button.

I'm finding the requirement that you hold the MUTE button down and then select the parts to mute to be holding me back. I'm trying to use the korg for live performance. Having to hold down the mute and then hit the part requires a large amount of dexterity, especially if you're doing it with one ...

Does anyone know any better ways to not have to press mute followed by the part you want to mute? The fact that it requires two fingers and nearly 2 hands to mute a part is slowing my down when I try and play live. I rarely use the 'Press a part to hear the sound' feature when I'm playing live as ...

Can't get recording working.

I'm having trouble recording. I know the answer is going to be something really simple and stupid but I can't get it to work. I've been working with the manual. Pre-Rec test: I press audio thru and the levels are good and there's audio comming in. 1) I click Shift-Rec, then play. It says it its ...

ANOTHER TIP

If you hold SHIFT-SOLO you can tun on/off ALL drum parts or ALL keyboard parts | stretch parts | slice | audio in parts as a whole.

This makes it a lot easier than trying to frantically tap the 9 drum parts in 100 milliseconds.

Found the answer in the manual. When the solo is like that you have a Transpose enabled (sorta obvious), but to turn it off you need to set the transpose to Zero. To do this you old SHIFT-SOLO and then press keyboard keys until the display says Transpose Zero (not obvious) You can use the arrow keys ...

I tried messing around with the sampling just a short while ago and I found it a bit limited. It seems like its very geared towards one shot records and not loop recordings. For instance, I was synced to an incoming track but I couldn't get it to records a perfect 1 bar loop. I had to manually hit ...

Any tips on using 'Audio In' functionality

I'm trying to perform some live improvisations by using the audio in but its not working so well for various reasons. If the incoming signal is really busy I get lots of clicks (as there's no attack on the envelope generator). Also it seems that recording a loop on the fly is out of the question as ...

It would be great to get the source code. The tool is functional but I frequently find myself with the daunting task for moving 100 files up 100 rows which actually works out to 100 x 100 = 10, 000 clicks which is a bit too much. I'd like to just add Multi select functionality. But we need the ...

sounds like a great tip
That is a really good idea.... How do you do that?

I'm really interested in things like this where you can get a lot out of your pattern without having to load a new pattern.

Here's another tip I found in the manual and in the Forum. If you press SHIFT-PATTERN the pattern flips back to the originally saved pattern. You can then cancel back to your altered pattern by pressing the PATTERN button again. These things are gems to me. I'm sure lots of people know them already ...

Live Tips: Solo and Muting strategies.

I'm interested in using the ESX live and I want to know if people have any tips on soloing/muting parts and start/stop patterns. I'll just list a few things I do know to give people ideas of what I'm after. Tip1) I sometimes with save my pattern with parts muted so that I can introduce the new parts ...

urn them off or to more than 30% makes a noticable change in sound, so yours shound respond the same way unless they are broken.. Like I was saying, they have no effect whatsoever. I'm perfectly familiar with what tube distortion should sound like but I get no love. I'm just wondering if I have ...

Tube Distortion: I can't hear it.

I 've had an Esx-1 for a week now. Its changed the way I make music already. I love it. But you guys already know that. BUT... the tubes on mine don't make any noticeable difference. I've tried various combination's of volume settings but the tubes just add a bit of gain to the volume. They don't ...
