Thanks that does help I was albe to "unfreeze" the pads by clearing the part on that pad. then the sound that was supposed to be there came back. so the overlap might have been the problem. Is there any way to bulk load samples for each bank. or do they all have to be individually assigned a number ...

I don't think that's it because severl part keys aren't working including the 1st one in some patterns. I wonder if I confused the 'tribe by overwritting the numbers in 2 different banks with 2 different sounds. That is bank [1] pattern a01 uses sound 00 in the first pad but in [9] I over wrote that ...

, Maybe not, I have just stumbled on another glitch, some of the part keys in some patterns in bank (file) [2] don't make any sound now, even though they are assigned a sample and are lighting up as the sequence plays , just no sound. AND when I try to assign a different sample to that part still no ...

thanks , Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology, by banks I mean the 9 files on the card after you do a golbal save. When you are in global and hit shift "card" (15) the display shows "load" Hit 15 again and you get 9 choices and E. Each one of those 9 folders or files or banks has 120 paterns and ...

I have another post up trying to figure this out but it seems that the samples go with the bank. i.e. sound 01 in bank [1] doesn't have to be the same sound as 01 in bank [2]. So I guess you can have a completely different set of samples for each bank. But I'm guessing that the total can be 98.3 not ...

The mystery of samples and banks on the es1
I recently got and old es1 and I'm wondering how to load all new samples. Do I have to do each one individually? There is a 1.es file with samples on the card. Can I use that to load "E" samples? or do the samples have be in the root of the card? If I have 2.es and 3.es samples files on the card ...

attenuators
I see a bunch on ebay from 3.50 to 1500.00 with several in the 25.00 range. They are used to control volume on gutar tube amps. I have no idea which one would work with the ko-1 looks like they are set up to work with the amp not the instrument . Would something like this work? NOS stereo (dual ...

I'm not sure what you mean by a digital hot signal but I think I may have encountered that when I plugged into a small Marshal amp and the low end bass was so distorted I couldn’t turn the volume down enough to clear it up. I also had a problem with another amp that seemed to have too much gain from ...

kaoss and fx pedals
I'm looking for a way to add fx to my kaossilator and /or my es1. The norm would be a mini kp . I started looking at pedals and found the px5d. It seems the px5d has many more fx and can do several at once, plus it comes with software and can record. However, it's known as a guitar fx and I don't ...

rewind
I'm learning to use an es1. I'm making a new sequence or re doing a preset and I'm not quick enough to punch the keys where I want them before the end of the measure. I can't find in the manual any way to rewind to the beginning of a measure in a patern. Is it possible or do I just have to wait for ...

microsampler or NI machine
I'm trying to decide between the two. I like the sampling abilities of the korg but it seems the Machine would be better for performing. They actually seem to do about the same things. I like not having to look at the computer at all and that favors the MS. Any suggestions from folks who have tried ...
