M50 VST EDITOR

Well I've finally got the editor vst for my M50 loaded, no driver errors, no hardware errors, everything looks fine. But... I only hear sound from the vst's keyboard but my meters in Cakewalk don't move. I get no sound from the physical M50 keyboard and no meters. Cakewalk sees the M50 input and ...

COMBINING TWO OR MORE SOUNDS

I've never done this but I'm trying to get an Elton John type stage sound in my M50 by combining two different piano sounds. I'm not interested in splitting the keyboard, I just want to combine two sounds, maybe a third to play on the whole keyboard (88 keys). I've seen a YouTube video but he goes ...

Combis

I find that the combis don't sound complete when recording via midi. When recording them analog, they sound as they should.

RECORDING M50 COMBI SOUNDS IN CAKEWALK

Anyone have information on how to record M50 combi sounds to cakewalk (midi). I tried recording to an audio track but it crashes cakewalk. I'm aware of a feature in seq mode, copy from combi, but no idea how to use it. I've also read that since combi sounds are composed of multiple sounds, it would ...

M50 editor

I've got the editor to load but have no idea how to record more than one track/midi channel. I'm only allowed one instance of the editor vst so I'm baffled on how to do it. I select the sound I want from the plugin then play it on my M50. But that's just a single track/channel. Would you know how to ...

USING M50 PLUGIN EDITOR VST

I finally have the editor vst loaded but have no idea how to use it. I can record a single midi track, selecting the sound on the vst and playing it on my m50. But I don't know how to record a second, third, etc. tracks/midi channels. I can only bring up one Instance of the vst. Anyone out there who ...

Complete newbie

I've got a Korg M50 and Sonar X3. I've played around a little, and have read dozens of posts and how-to videos...but I am truly lost. Can someone, anyone, give me a primer on the correct way to set this up. M50 should be in seq mode? I can record and playback the M50's instruments by selecting them ...

GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even an e-mail response from Korg didn't give me the right answer. I just had to (in seq mode), page select, preferences, click MULTI REC, and click REC on keyboard track and drum track. I knew it was something in the M50 setup. Over a week trying to figure this out. Had to dig ...

Piano and drums set to BTH. Like I said, when I click track 1 in Sonar and have MIDI channel on M50 set to 1, MIDI channel in Sonar on 1, I hear piano. When I click track 2 in Sonar and have MIDI channel on M50 set to 10, MIDI channel in Sonar on 10, I hear drums. How can I get each track in Sonar ...

Sorry, drumtrack on channel 10 meter is moving. SEQ mode is set to midi channel 1, but drumtrack is set to channel 10. Sonar says to create two separate midi tracks, one for drumtrack, one for piano, which I am doing. I have played around with the global midi setup in M50, but nothing seems to work ...

Recording multiple MIDI tracks

I am trying to record (from seq mode) 2 midi tracks simultaneously, piano and auto drumtrack. I have Sonar, and am setting up 2 tracks, channel 1 for piano, channel 10 for drumtrack. Piano is recording, but drumtrack is heard, but is not moving meter in Sonar. Any ideas?

Recording drumtrack in seq mode to Sonar

1. Is there a way to record drumtrack and piano from seq mode to different tracks in sonar at the same time? If not, 2. How can I record only drumtrack from seq mode to sonar. When I play individual keys in midi channel 10 I hear the drums, and sonar records it. But when I have drum track enabled, I ...

Replying to myself

From what I've gathered on my own so far, I need to define the M50 instrument in Sonar with a .ins file???? Then assign all the output channels to the Korg M50???? Then I will be able to select the Korg's sounds from Sonar....but what prog or combi do I set on the M50 when recording/playing back ...
