I think that on the NS2 vs Kronos question, it is also very important which musical style you're into. The nord stage 2 is a mean vintage machine. It seems clavia is aiming for that kind of sound pallete: B3 emulation (3 different models) plus vox and farfisa, rhodes, wurly, clav, CP80, a full ...

What's a Nord Lead got to do with B3 emulation? Maybe if you compared it with a nord electro, a nord c2 or a nord stage. But nord lead?

Smooth sound transition - in all situations?

I noticed something on this video from musikmesse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LV46a2nSOU This guy is changing sounds, at some point - not in setlist mode. If i'm hearing correct, than the sound cuts off when he's changing presets with the data wheel or the +/- buttons. Come to think of it, i ...

One of the things i find interesting about this demo is the cx-3. First, after being "tweaked", it sounded better to my ears. More importantly, from 04:56 and on - i can see how akos does some hand smears and other organ techniques - although it's a weighted keyboard. That's kinda re-assuring.

How many samples comprise the sgx-1?

After looking in the voice name list, i'm a bit confused. I looked under multisamples (pg 192) - in the sgx-1 engine (EXs6 & EXs7). I thought i' was going to find one sample of a german grand and one sample of the japanease grand. Instead i found 81 german piano samples, and 51 japanease piano ...

Huh??? The plugin belongs to the specifications of the Kronos. What's going on here? Any clarification, perhaps from Dan or Rich? Maybe it's available as download from Korguser.net once you register your Kronos. I registered my Kronos immediately at Korg's main site. I just tried to register at ...

While spending a lot of time in the sequencer mode, I was surprised not to see a piano roll or drum grid matrix for editing as these are typically standards in many sequencers. Data recorded on a track is displayed as a serious of little squares. For audio tracks, a recording of silence and actual ...

Do you know how many times I've tried out a keyboard that said "Akai Compatible" only to find out the implementation was some kind of worthless, cruel joke? LOTS! Everytime a new keyboard comes out everyone gets excited, but it's the "Gotchas" and the REALITY of how the keyboard works past the ...

Stephen Kay has some excellent examples of using KARMA to produce realistic guitar effects. Guitar Strumming & Finger Picking . On the info - on the left side - is says: Part 3 of the 40 minute presentation at Music Player Live ( October 2005 , NYC). In other words, this is a six year old ...

After going thru the voice name list, there are several things i don't understand. I'm not interested in the user banks themselves - but rather in the samples list. I wanted to know what is the content of the 12GB of sample material. So i went to the "multisamples" chapter with all the lists of what ...

I see you're running the audio thru the usb connection on the Kronos. What's the sound quality - compared to connecting it with regular jacks?

Can you please educate me and expand my general knowledge as to which intel processor is to be found on a yamaha motif? roland fantom? nord stage? To my knowledge, Yamaha, Nord, Roland, etc. do not use Intel or any similar processor but rather use proprietary VLSI/LSI chips for their processing ...

That's great news. I didn't know what i was going to do. You see, i have the tc electronic "Impact Twin" which has only two stereo inputs (4 jacks). I have the Polyevolver, and going to get both the Kronos and the moog slim phatty. That's at least 5 inputs. So basically, if i understand this ...
