OK, to be honest, I just don't have the money right now otherwise I can't deny that the Kronos is the most powerful keyboard ever made. Also, I bought my Triton after already having my old faithful TS-10 for a couple of years, and things with the Triton just didn't come along very well... I ended up ...

The fact that a system is more complicated is not an excuse for a hardware failure. I'd understand if the machine would miss a note hear and there, or crush from time to time, but these hardware FUBAR issues are not acceptable. I assure you my Ensoniq TS-10 has much more electronic parts in it, and ...

Prolonged use of headphones will damage your hearing! so please take that into consideration. Another issue is that headphones are not very good for mix monitoring, if you'd like to record stuff and distribute it. Its not an issue of how good the headphones are, but sevarl Psycoacoustic issues with ...

I'm not an expert but I do use Linux machines from time to time. I searched the error you mentioned: INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel And couldn't find anything specific, however, usually when a system is having an issue with booting up, it might be related to an issue with its storage ...

TS-10 anyone?

Did any of you try the old Ensoniq TS-10 distorted guitars? Its not actually a sound (the basic sample is very poor), but how they managed to make the effect respond to your playing. I don't have recording option to upload sounds I'm afraid, but these Ensoniq engineers just new how to create a ...

Putting the Guitar sounds aside (I believe there is is a separate thread for this), I think the Jean Michel Jarre piece was brilliant! I think young Jean Michel Jarre used walls of racks and miles of patch cords, to conceive this piece in the 70's, and now it all fits in one "Performance" of one ...

They say "A picture is worth a thousand words", same goes for one good demo! Why did we have to put out with so many marketing BS and the same boring demos of the same sounds, instead of getting a chance to hear some demos like this one? Kronos is a new instrument so I guess this guy didn't have ...

doogler63, there are lots of keys in that picture :D If you look at this picture a long time, it looks like a big smile with lots of teeth, I bet you are smiling when you see this setup every day. I was thinking about the MP10 for its keyboard action, what do you think about it? compared to the ...

Hello, Such a consortium would take peoples from Korg, Roland, Yamaha, Clavia and a few software companies to work together on a common project. Maybe that will occurs when they all feel the need for it (how many workstation sold this year ? is it a market to keep ?). I think Roland get of the ...

Maybe I'm very wrong here, but I think many workstation buyers are amateurs musicians who want to make nice music in the most simple and intuitive way. for these people, a hardware workstation is a very good solution. This crowed is not necessarily looking for the best sound in every class to get ...

Re: Got my 88

Howdy all - My 5 year old was playing with the 2 joysticks (the snap to center one and the free-form one) and if she couldn't break it, then it seems pretty stable. Time will tell, of course. Starlin Wow! you let a 5 years old come near your new purchase? Do Korg pay you to QA their instrument? is ...

To my ears it sounds just like how Korg describes their STR engine, they say its like having wire string which you can edit its attributes. Guess what? that's how it sounds to me! a wire string with dynamic and the strumming effect, but that's it! I don't hear the sound of the wood. Maybe for this ...

Just to troll for a bit, but not really, I can't play the acoustic guitars on my Motif because the response in the patch isn't dynamic enough. My M3 is good enough, but to be honest, I like playing guitars on my Ensoniq TS-10 most of all, and am thinking of getting a used Ensoniq sampler at some ...
