Have a look at the cpu meters. If the effects CPU gets overloaded (e.g. using too many O-verbs at once) then things like this happen. Usually occurs just after changing patch, when SST is active and the effects CPU is having to process effects for both the old patch and the new one. For this reason ...

OK - a different approach might be to set one of the nanoPad pads to toggle mode using the Korg nanoPad software. In toggle mode, you press the pad once to start a chord or sequence etc. then press it again to stop it. This even works for the top 8 Kronos chord pads.

On Kronos, control information like sustain is only generated on the global channel Gch (which by default is channel 1), so the first thing you need to do is to relay that information to channel 2. This can be done with a Karma module: In the Karma setup screen, use any initialised module but make ...

nanoPad in toggle mode is quite good for this - you can use the Kronos chord pads, which map to the top 8 pads of nanoPad to trigger the sample. If you set a pad on the nanoPad to toggle mode using the Korg nanoPad software, you can press once to trigger the sample, and press again to stop it. The ...

Agree - stuck notes are a classic midi issue.
The COMPARE button acts like a midi panic button, and usually stops all sounding notes.

Can't say I've heard of the George Shearing group (?), but it should be fairly straightforward to do what you're describing on Kronos... In the program basic page for the guitar or vibes sound you want, set the voice assign mode to mono, and the priority to high (so that if you play a chord, it only ...

Most likely to be the analog inputs on the rear panel. They can be a bit noisy if the gain is set high. If you're not using them, then you can disable them in the global audio options, or the audio tab of any program or combi that isn't using the global options.

Hello All! I have recently purchased a Kronos and have a nanopad 2. I understand the simple plug and play aspect of the nanopad and I have even used the editor to make some minor adjustments. However, I am still having difficulty getting the nanopad to perform some more specific tasks. Such as ...

Not having a whole lot of luck. The solution in the linked thread was in the ballpark, but with the weirdness going on, basically made it unplayable. There needs to be a GE called "don't do a damn thing, just output exactly what I play", and then the input ch/output ch thing would do the trick. You ...

Kronos pricing - what's going on?

Noticed today that (at least in the UK), many shops are selling the Kronos 61 and 73 both for the same discounted price of £2299. Kronos 88 more expensive, but still slightly discounted.

Wondering if they're clearing out stock for something? Is the same happening elsewhere in the world?

Because it is a musical instrument, not some combobulation of high-tech parts. If I were to recommend to Korg ONE thing to do with the Kronos it would be to re-do their main sample library. Many of the sounds in the instrument go back to the OASYS and further. They are compromised because they were ...

What you’re describing sounds like the Karma through in zone function. I’m not near the Kronos to check, but I’m pretty sure you will get the functionality you’re looking for if you follow the steps above but leave out step 4 - i.e. make sure the “Run” button is unticked. Through in zone still works ...

Not backwards at all! What is completely intuitive for pitched sounds is completely counter-intuitive for unpitched sounds. I have to admit I’ve transposed sfx patches in the past without ever questioning why it was that way round. I had to think it through as well - just like the chimps we don’t lea ...

Sounds right to me. If you think of a pitched sound like a piano, transposing to +12 means it plays an octave higher than it was before, so pressing the key A3 means it now plays the note A4 - i.e. the sample for note A4 has moved from key A4 down to key A3. As you transpose the pitch UP , the ...
