If you don‘t want to layer a bass sound (or edit a matching sound it on your own by duplicating an oscillator a tune it 12 semitones down) you can use the stereo pitch shifter as an IFX. With that effect you can add an octave down version of the sound and also detune it slightly...

Any wishes for sounds made with the PA5x?

Hi folks, I‘d like to introduce myself. After playing years in a cover-band using a Kurzweil K2000 I tried out a Korg PA2x pro. It was a challenge to realize all the sound-combis with only 4 sounds plus the pads and mp3 but it worked. Later I switch to a PA4x Musikant (same workflow) and then a K ...

Hello Mike, I think it‘s not directly possible. But you can achieve a good result in other ways: - If you want to use it in a style you can the the events of the missing sounds manually or first create a custom (user) kit with the wanted sounds and copy the whole drum track to the percussion-track a ...

Hi chelsea4023, yes you can sample something similar, but also by customizing the existing choir sounds in the PA5x (mix up to 3 and only use a little bit of easy edit - lowering the cut off-frequncies) you get a nice result. Here's a little mp3-snippet (direct from PA5x) and the referencing ...

Hi nonchai, you find something in the manual (page 524), there is a list of the assignable functions. You can modify that for the user-layer of the control-section (faders & buttons). You can only assign the general guital level and the level of guilt.-fx 1-4, no EQ. I think this is set in this way ...

Hi, in this video the focus is on the generally playing the left hand organ-like freely (ad lib.) with a bass-sound. But you can use it for playing with a bass pedal. I think there are so many good bass sounds in the PA5x that it will last a bit to try out them all... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v ...

Hello Korg2024, also inside the Korg the quality of a slicing result depends on the lengths of the loop. If it is not for example exactly 2 bars each with 4beats, it is difficult for the PA to calculate a correct tempo (see the example in the manual page 1049). Perhaps the result gets better if you ...

Shifting a drum mapping - possible?

Hi all you Forum-members, when using the transpose-function in the mixer a drumkit stays mapped. Is there a way (beside of creating an own drum-mapping or programming it as a single sound or pad) to use the drum-sound/-instrument e.g. mapped on E4 while „shifting“ the kit (in an unknown way) 4 half s ...

Hello Anthony, I know and respect your longtime work, the power of Kronos is not the sample engine - it‘s got eight other sophisticated sound-engines which you can combine in many ways (in programs and man you more in combis). But I don‘t want to begin a new discussions here - I‘ve used a Kronos for ...

perhaps it´s a little bit easier if you're at your keyboard: Just make a new MP3 Record (see manual page 763ff.) and before that load your desired mp3 in player1; transpose to fit the tuning and record... The result may not be the best quality because of artefacts but it´s a very straight forward w ...

thanks for this advice - I have a simple question:
When using "save all" (after creating some SB-entries and a saved custom Setlist) I 've inspected the saved file at the destinated location: I can identify the SB-entries but can't find any Setlist(s) - is that correct?

Best regards

It‘s a little bit sad - such an old keyboard like the Casio MZ-2000 has the ability to save splitpoints in a registration (and I thought in former days the PA4x was also able....) but a high end keyboard like PA5x is restricted in this way...
