I agree with all of that.

Phaseyness on PA4x
Even I am able to create a phasey sound on my XF7 and other keyboards and modules, many which are not listed. But that's not the point. I think we have exhausted the common multisample argument, and accept your explanation. Don't understand your last sentence at all, but I expect you do. Thanks for ...

Phase issues of strings
Hi Antony and Sharp. I accept that the technical issues are based on physics and the limitations of the systems used. Perhaps in the future we will look back and wonder why there was a problem here, because someone else has sorted the system. I will use layering factory sounds more now, but still ...

Phasiness in string sounds
Antony, I am not doubting the phase issue between using common multisamples-That is for me , a technicality. My point is that I do not have this problem with a range of other keyboards and string sounds, and some of those will probably have the same multisamples layered too. In driving a car I don't ...

String phasiness
I don't think this is 'Normal' at all. I can layer strings (with effects) on my Kurzweil and my yamaha XF7 and there is no phasiness on strings detected. I am convinced this is a Pa4X pro design issue. Having said that, the strings used alone or in limited layering are very good indeed. Although, I ...

Phasey sound on PA4X Pro
When building up keysets using strings I find that when I press the keys and have layered strings, the sound becomes 'Phasey' at times. I think the strings of the PA4xPro are exceptionally good individually, and have layered the strings successfully, but in the keysets I make the phaseyness is there ...

Best Price Pa4X
To keep down the cost of a new synth check out part-exchange options. I was able to get back about 60% of the cost of my 73 key Kronos in part exchange, which was just over two years old, and they threw in loads of extra styles on a free memory stick for the Pa4 X pro in the UK. I bought the 61 key ...

Krome v Kronos
I don't own a Kronos but have played it many times, and have owned a Krome 73 as well as Triton Pro, M3, M1 and many others. (I just couldn't get on with the Krome because of lack of aftertouch, but the sounds and the display interface were excellent.) For sampling you need the Krome or the Yamaha ...

Triton samples
Just a point of interest. I used to have an M3 synth and successfully loaded many of those program sounds into a Korg Krome. I had the Triton sounds too downloaded, and these all worked well on the Krome. I had the original Triton pro and most of the sounds were a good representation of what I ...

Split Sounds
The i3 strings work fine on my PA4 X Pro, (both in split mode and across the keyboard), but the voice is from an older type sound, on what is a technically obsolete keyboard, many years old. Try the split with some of the more modern factory string sounds, such as studio strings, and if you still ...

Considering PA4X
I had the Tyros 2 some time ago and have played the 4 and 5 a bit. I bought the PA4X Pro recently, after considering the Tyros and others for some time. It is an amazing instrument. Have had a lot of Korg synths over the years and other manufacturers ( including several not listed below). I really ...

Alto saxophone
The best way is to sample other good saxophones from other keyboards. I did this from Roland sound modules, Kurzweil, Yamaha and Korg Synths and some of the results are good. A bit of trial and error though. Having taught myself alto sax some years ago, I realised nothing comes close to the sound or ...

What speakers do you use ?
I use Focal SBe active speakers. These have a terrific clear and neutral midrange, and a Beryllium tweeter for the higher frequencies. If you need more bass there are other models in the range. (They have limited bass due to their size) I used to use other speakers such as Harbeth Xpressions with a ...

Best of Triton programs for Krome
Disappointed with Best of Triton sounds for Krome, having owned a Triton pro some years back the range of sounds I recall was much more diverse even though the resolution and quality of the Krome clearly surpasses the Triton. The free ones I downloaded seem OK but rather bland compared with those in ...
