Transfer all tracks into a computer and use an audio editor to edit out the unwanted portions from the tracks. I use Sound Forge for that, but I think it can be done eith most audio editors. But the editing must be millisecond accurate. Then return the tracks to D888 (or use Reaper or whatever ...

I don't think so. I recommend you to create a new song for each take. It only takes a second.

I think the order is the order when the songs are created. Naming does not change that.

You could copy the tracks to your computer and create new songs in the right order and then copy the tracks to them.

Re: D888 Output Assign quality??

Hi, can someone please help me with an irritating issue I'm having trouble out. I'm very new making home recordings well . When I listen to a recording, and the Output Assign button is NOT lit (which sets it to Individual I believe), I can only hear tracks 1 and 2. And the sound is full and clear ...

This is a "feature" of D888. Yours is not defective in any way. There are two simple rules to avoid seeing the "working" message for more than a few seconds... 1) Never start recording into a new song or an existing song except at zero seconds (the song start). 2) If recording over the top of an ...

Maybe it will help with working with condenser mic. [a mixer before the D888...] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPCGHJgeyxY&NR=1 Mic preamps before condenser mics is probably enough. But there is no audible noise or pulses with the kind of music I do. Loud rock music. Probably more a problem with ...

The audiotracks you export to D888 must be 16bit/44khz/mono windows PCM wav-files and named like TRK01VT1.WAV, TRK02VT1.WAV etc. in order to get D888 to play them. If you have mixed a stereofile, then split it into two monofiles and name them TRK01VT1.WAV and TRK02VT1.WAV, and they will be tracks 1 ...

Did you change the mic into the channel 2 input? In D888 the mic/line inputs are connected straght to the tracks. If your mic is connected to input 1 you can only record to track 1 and if your mic is connected to input 2 you can only record to track 2.

Re: How To Record Band & Export Files To GarageBand, etc

Hi Jerky, Thank you for some insightful comments. A couple of questions to clarify: When you send your mix to the guitarist, are you sending him a stereo file? Mulitiple tracks? How many tracks/ mono or stereo / is your guitarist returning to you? Thank you again -- would never have thought about ...

I do that all the time. Our band also has a player 350 km away. We record drums, bass and guitar with D888. Then I export the tracks to PC. I use Reaper (free software and a lot better than Audacity) to mix the tracks and then send the mix via e-mail to the guitarist. He then records his parts ...
