I sincerely doubt the editor will solve this. Would be nice if it did! Would be nice if OS X, Protools/DP/other apps, and MIDI devices shared info a little more seamlessly...
I doubt that too. Now I just have to wait and see. And meanwhile just have to making one on my own. But it's a good thing cause then I will learn how to do it. Hope this will not give me a headache :D

You could try to use PCG Tools to generate patch names and copy the list into the file you want (you probably need to manually change the format but at least you don't have to type everything in yourself. First try it with a few program names, if it works, do the rest.

I will make a generator later but my wish list is getting larger than the speed I can implement items.
Thanks again Michel. I'll try to do that idea. But one question though, what is "PCG Tool"? Is it the same thing as CherryPicker?
I will send the PCG Tools to you right after this mail.

If you load your PCG, then press 'Generate List', and the big button 'Generate' a patch list will be created. This list can be used as input for your instrument definition file. You will need to 'tweak' it probably a bit but at least you don't have to type over all the program/combi names.

Eventually I will make partly or automatic support of generating such files.

I was thinking of using PCG tools to generate Cubase patch lists on my windows machine, and then moving the files to a Mac and using Cherry Picker to convert to Pro Tools midinam.

I'm mostly trying to do this for some of the patches in the dowloads here. I'm not sure how midinam files deal with patches in the same bank (I imagine poorly).

I haven't analyzed midinam files but maybe I will do it if the editor that will be published by Korg will not make such a file obsolete.

The Kronos Editor ver 2 does create midnam files for Pro Tools, Sonar ins-files and Cubase patch lists but... Unfortunately the midnam file doesn't work in Pro Tools 10  Doesn't work in Pro Tools 9 either
