:?: :!:

what exactly "works fine"?
you managed to enter notes from a keyboard controller in stepedit mode??
Yep.

Actually, no. Not in step edit mode, in step jump mode. My bad.

Yes, not only from external keyboard but from its own keyboard.

If it works it's still not precise enough and miss feedback what note is actually beeing played.

Try to create specific changing paraphonic pads: 16 steps x 4 length x 4 paraphonie = 256 times going into Step Edit mode turning wheels until you got the right notes :( Thats for one pattern.

Step Jump mode can be used to input notes and CC from an external controller. KAOSS pad too.

You also don't need to hold down the Step Jump button to do any of it. Just punch the Step Jump button once then move on with holding down the pads while in record mode. With CCs the recording will end and the end of play of the selected pads but with notes it will keep recording so you can hold pad(s), play note(s), hold different pad(s), play note(s), and so on. Just remember if you ever start changing knob values it will go back to ending the recording at the end of the selection.

Thank you Steinberger
but you do not have a video to illustrate this trick?
This process is not very clear to me.

Actually, I tried again, and it works for me too in step jump mode! this is really great! (and allows us to forget a little bit this "step edit mode")
Thank you again.

It is a little more tricky for CC but for enter notes (including "long notes" by holding several pads at once)
that is awesome!

Doh, you're totally right, I missed that part. I put an annotation about that on the video, thanks for pointing that out.
