Kronos electronic sound demo
on a dutch forum we were talking about the electronic sounds of the kronos. There aren't that many sound demo's online that showcase the outstanding electronic type of sounds that you can use in ambient type of music.
So i've created a small sound demo on the kronos with some electronic sounds (except the second sound which is a piano).
There are 7 sounds in this demo
1: Combi Pad Sound, using 3 EXI modules (Mod7, GTR1 en de AL1)
2: Piano combi (just plain KARMA jamming)
3: Pad Sound with sound Movements generated with KARMA (GTR1 modules)
4: Choir (HD1 module)
5: Bass sound (2 EXI modules MS20 and Polysix)
6: Pad sound (MS20 1 module)
7: MS20 Stepped (2 EXI modules MS20 and Polysix)
My absolute favorite is number 6, it's one of the MS20 presets from the kronos, and i love those type of sounds and the fact that you can play pads with lot's of polyphony on a ms20.
You can find the demo on soundcloud.

Thanks for making this demo. It's good to hear this side of the Korg as well, after so many SGX-1 demo's.

It's coming!
I listened to these sounds. I confess that I'm not all that impressed with a lot of the copy-cat stuff posted using this new machine. I'd rather take on the challenge and come up with some new stuff. I'm sure this will be possible with this tool of the imagination, and, of course, I'd better post some examples myself. Oh, the possibilities! These sounds just reminded me, tantalized me with all the raw material this machine puts at your fingertips.
Main thing is, my machine (the 88) is being delivered today. I've been waiting since the end of May. I haven't been this excited since I got my Kurzweil 2600x way back when. That machine was destroyed by Katrina.
This is also my first posting on this forum (putting on flame-retardant underwear...).

when i'm done with my new soundset i will post some original demo's on my youtube channel. But at the moment i'm still in the learning phase of some of the EXI models.
Although, i already transfered some of my old Korg M3 combi's to the Kronos. The ones i liked the most will also be available for the Kronos.
This one where i play an original tune on the M3 on one of my own programmed combi's (from the Visions of Shiva soundset) is already finished on the Kronos (and sounds even better because i could use some extra sounds and Effects)

Its all really good stuff qrobinez! Thanks for posting! You are starting to see the sonic potential of the Kronos....its not about the presets...its about what you can tweak them into and create. Your expressions with it are great. Particularly like the pad sounds and MS20 tweaks.

Allthough I'm not really into electric music, it has a lot of interesting movements in the music and I have a lot respect how it sounds. Very great.

The Visions of Shiva sounds are great, some are really nice. The first one has some very interesting bends you can do on the ribbon controller (I think it's called "Visions of Shiva" even). This set is a pretty inspiring collection of just what you can do, after learning the ropes a little bit, and experimenting. I've recently hooked up a Roland foot pedals rig, switched the MIDI channel to the M3's bass channel (mostly) and had a whole new dimension in playing/orchestrating open up. As an organist, I know how to play bass with my feet.

the combi's in the Vision of Shiva set were created by me because i wanted to learn the KARMA possibilities of the M3. In that proces i created hundreds of combi's and the best 65 combi's were placed in that soundset.
at the moment i'm doing the same for the Kronos, during my learning phase i'm creating new sounds and combi's in that same style for the Kronos. I don't need to learn the KARMA engine anymore, but the Kronos can give so much more different possibilities for Combi's. Now i can not only use 4 KARMA engines for a combi, but also Step sequencers (in Mod7, AL1, MS20 etc) and arpeggiator patterns in the Polysix.
that combined in one combi gives a performance power that is absolutely stunning.
At the end of october i'm planning to show a couple of them on my youtube channel and will probably release them around the end of december.
