This looks very cool! I can't find anything on how to configure it for different MIDI messages, nor anything else that would help me set it up for a different controller (I'm a MicroKontrol user).

Any information on this would be very helpful!

I assume so, but it's hard to do without some explanation of what the X/Y pad controls on these other products.

I set one up with X controlling rate and Y controlling number of steps, is this the sort of thing you are looking for?

Dananimal is right. You need to make sure that the Librarian software has the right MIDI in / out set (Port A In, CTRL out). What controller are you two using? padKontrol, microKontrol or Kontrol49? It might make a difference if you have changed the scene setup on your controller. As far as I am aware the PadKontrol doesn't support this in it's firmware. You might have to find a peice of KORG Native Mode middleware to help you do this.

I have seen many references to the "MicroKontrol PDF" on this forum (especially in threads related to native mode hacking), however I can't seem to find a link to it.

Basically I am looking for any KORG MicroKontrol sysex docs =D, and I've been up for a long time looking .
