instead of an MPC, you might want to look at a rack sampler such as an akai s3000 or even an s1000 (might be able to get one really cheap). as for connecting a padKontrol to a microkorg or other synth (assuming it has midi in) you have an alternative way of playing and manipulating the sounds, if ...

Its a midi controller, it is just a way of inputing data, how that data is interpreted is up to you, depends how far you want to go, probably best to stick with whatever software you have and work hard to learn it. I would use the pads for triggering sounds and use the your mouse and some editing ...

You have to select the pads that respond to the flam or roll by: 1. press note cc 2. press and hold either roll or flam and tap the pads to toggle whether or not they will be respond to roll or flam. Yes, it is normal behaviour for a PadKontrol, I have seen it mentioned in an earlier post and get the same result with my linux setup (its definately at the PadKontrol end). It really sucks. Cant understand why something would be designed to work this way when the normal 0-127 in increments of one ...
