I have the Kawai VPC1 and it does indeed offer a much more sophisticated approach to sample control. It is made basically for control of piano samples. In that area it is pretty much in a class of its own. It is a niche product and not for everyone. I love it.

I bought the MODX7 and love it. I have a Kronos X88. I don't think you can compare the two. My MODX7 was less than half the price of my Kronos X88. For that little money it is one hell of a synth. Just my opinion. And I can carry the MODX7 with one hand. Not so much with the Kronos X88.

I have both the Kronos x and Roland A88 controller driving a iMac with Synthogy's Ivory Piano. The Kronos is certainly acceptable and I play classical music on it with no problem. I think the pianos sound good. The Roland A88 and Ivory is definitely a step up. The A88 is a wonderful controller. It ...

I bought a backup motherboard the same month I bought my Kronos about 5 years ago. I haven't had to use it, but glad I got it. It is a Intel D525MW motherboard. I would google it and see if you can find one.

I think you need more than 20 minutes of playing to give the Kronos a fair evaluation. I play arrangers also. I have Korg, Yamaha and Roland arrangers. They are fun and yes you can get a finished product easily. Is it better than the Kronos? It's all subjective. I like the Kronos. I agree it is ...

I have the Kronos X88 and like it very much for the piano. I play classical and jazz. I would also recommend the Roland RD700NX. It is a very good digital piano and can be had for a reasonable price now that the Rd800 has come out. You might also want to consider the Kronos and Pianoteq. I love the ...

It sounds like the digitizer is not responding. I had this happen in my Roland G70 Arranger keyboard. I purchased a new digitizer from Roland for $70.00. I could have, however, got one off ebay for considerably less. In your case the first thing I would do is check the connection between the ...

Sounds like you could use a total reinstall with the factory disks. It sounds more like a software problem than a hardware problem. Best of luck to you.

I have the EX5R and XS rack. I like the XS rack. I think for the money that will give you the latest technology and biggest bang for the buck. When used with the editor and a good controller the XS sounds wonderful. The EX5R is no slouch either. Got great reviews but people complained about the ...

I owned the 88 note M50 and liked it a lot. I didn't, however, like its limited polyphony. With all the great combis you could really hear the voice stealing. I purchased a Kronos X88 about 2 years ago. There is no comparison between the Kronos and the M50. It's like comparing a Porshe to a Hugo. I ...
