An absolutely cracking rundown Gargamel! I couldn't have ever hoped for a more complete and thorough answer! That's certainly cleared up a lot of my queries, so thanks a lot :D Will now be on the hunt for these reference guides :) So basically, the 01/W is the one to go for if you're after sound ...

Korg AI2 Synths
Hi there Am thinking of buying an AI2 synth and am finding it hard to differentiate between the different models. Hope someone on here can help. If I understand it correctly so far, the 03R/W is a stripped down version of this line and is probably not worth picking up now. The X5DR on the other hand ...

Factory Sounds
Hi all, Apologies if this has been asked many times before and the answer is obvious! I'm thinking of buying a Triton Classic, but before I do, I'm wondering where you can get the factory patches from. The way I understand it, there is no function on-board the Triton Classic to re-initialise the ...

Dreamwaves and Trancewaves Patches for the Wavestation
Hi guys, Does anyone know where you can get the Dreamwaves and Trancewaves patches for the Wavestation, as programmed by Paul Osborn? They were originally made available to purchase as cards in 1998, and from this review, sound like an excellent set of patches: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan98 ...

Best Korg for Pads
Ok guys, a good old newbie question for you. Am after the synth with the best pads. I have a Wavestation EX and the pads are amazing. Was just wondering what you guys think. Would you say the pads on the Triton beat the ones on the Wavestation? Would it be worth me trading in the Wavestation and ...

Hi, Well that always depend on what kind of music you do. I'm in the prog rock/pop rock(sometimes) scene. For that kind of music, definately the 01/W. There's an analog flavor to the sound that isn't there in the others. If you're in the techno/dance scene, the triton is hard to beat. The Trinity ...

Is it the waveform itself or is it the patch that it is used in? (I'm confused as in, I dont know if you use Korg's definitions or generic definitions — lets say waveform, patch, performance, multi) If it's the patch it is used in, what are the settings in the patch? Also, have you connected the o ...

First, is the difference in sound you perceive real (in other words, can it be measured) or is it your own mind playing tricks? You can test this difference pretty easy. Setup a midi file with a couple of notes on certain velocities. Make sure both WS are set at exactly the same settings (tuning ...

Re: Korg Wavestation
Also one more question. With the "Voices" waveform (number 91 in the PCM memory), the sound doesn't seem to be very good quality. There is a lot of "ringing" in the sound, like it's being ring modulated or something, or being put through a LFO (even though I've turned the LFO's off). This seems to ...

Korg Wavestation
Hi, Wanted to get your thoughts on the overall sound quality of the Wavestation. I have two Wavestations - an original and EX keyboard - and want to sell the original one, but am a little worried as on some of the patches/performances I can notice some difference in the sound and overall output of ...

Wavestation vs 01/W
Hi guys, This probably should be in the versus forums at VintageSynth.com, but never mind! I have a Wavestation and it's great for pads and atmospheres as I'm sure you know. Was just wondering, how would you guys say the 01/W compares to the Wavestation for pads and strings? Do you reckon it's worth ...
