That first range is about sampling, yes, so you don't have much use for it unless you buy the upgrade.

The second is about program and combi modes, and what you can do with them, so that could be relevant to you.

They do seem to offer good value for the money but I've had some problems with a Behringer mixer that somehow creates a ground loop when it has no power but a mic is still connected to it. Couldn't find a reason to this. :?

I think your best bet is to play both boards before deciding--they are great boards but IMO they sound very different from each other. And worth remembering is that if you are used to Korg, the M3 is a lot easier to learn.

I miss mine a lot. It's in the repair shop.

Before I got the TR, I had been using a Kawai K4 for years and years, and while the K4 was a capable board in its time I am continually amazed by the TR. I love it. It's just so much fun to play.

My input? :?

Don't see how, considering that the hum starts as soon as I start the TR. But repair shop it is (or will be; they said there's no point in taking it to the shop before Monday) because I still have a warranty.

The real irony of the matter is that my TR now does have a problem with a humming headphones jack. :P

There are several inexpensive sound cards of good quality. For example, there is the M-Audio 2496 with very high-quality inputs.

My TR Stopped Responding

I was playing with various combi patches, striking a few chords and then changing to the next using the dial to switch to the next, and all of a sudden, the TR stopped responding. The keyboard, buttons, dials, lights, everything. The only thing still lighting up was the LCD. I turned the keyboard ...

This discussion saved my sanity. I've already talked to the shop that sold me my shiny new TR for a few weeks ago, thinking that something is wrong.

(Hi, I'm new here. I've been lurking around for a while, ever since I decided to buy a TR61, but haven't posted until now.)
