Trouble loading Ver 3 Upgrade

I see it's FAT 32 for this install. I downloaded the version and now it is installing, so perhaps I got a corrupted download…..thanks for helping!!! Fat 32. The Kronos seems to play nicer with a perfectly clean USB drive, formatted to Fat 32 from the Kronos. I had trouble before because I used a U ...

Trouble loadsing Ver 3

Somebody else had the same problem too. He said he formatted the USB in Kronos and then copied the files to it. It worked for him. I had the same problem. Seems like the prudent thing to do is: First format the USB thumb via the Kronos. Take the USB drive out of the Kronos Install the 9 files from ...

Re: Newbie question -- best way to advance sounds in Set Lis

To the left of the display screen are an "up and down" button. I use those. The downside of using the pedal is that you can on increment in one direction which means you might possibly have many...many patches set up in set list mode....many of which might be duplicate patches. By using the up and ...

Re: Keyboard Mag & Mr Rudess-5 vids

I think if more Kronos ( and perhaps other synth) users see what one can do with this keyboard, they'd be amazed. I know I am. No doubt that it takes an a lot of time to figure out all the patches, zones, effects, patch changes, but the ability to use ONLY one synth is remarkable - especially with ...

Dream Theater - Jordan Rudess and the Kronos

Dream Theater (the newer material with James laBrie and Jordon Rudess....and now of course Mike Mangini) is my go to band for progressive rock with a little more attitude. This is, progressive metal. I'm not a fan of metal typcially because there are no keyboards. "Progressive" metal on the other ...

Dream Theater - check out "A Draatic Turn of Events" and listen to it twice. I'm mostly with everyone. I love JR and his blistering fast fingers. But... yes, he does w*nk a lot. He produced an album a few years ago, I think it was "Feeding the Wheel," and I wanted to like it, but it lacked ...

Thanks, I'll check it out when I get home this evening. If you're a Mr Rudess fan you might be interested in these 5 videos of Jordan being interviewed by Steve Fortimoni. Dream Theater

Most of the 8 drummers who auditioned with DT had rehearsed prior to the audition. Having spoken (albeit very briefly) to Mike at the meet and greet and then watching him play, I could see why he was the best fit. not only is Mike technically "out of this world", but he's got a personality to match ...

Jordan Rudess

I believe I saw a video where JR explained that he used Synthology's "Ivory" product for the grand piano sounds he uses. As far as being disappointed that he uses a "tech guy", it is what it is. I can't imagine with his schedule that he has a much free time to spend tweaking patches. I also beleive ...

Programming Nano Pad for sustain

I read another post and I think I figured it out. 1 - remove NanoPad 2 from Kronos 2 - Plug NanoPad 2 into PC 3 - Launch Editor software 5 - Select button nine and change parameter from note to control change 6 - Type in 64 (for midi control change - sustain) 7 - Switch should be set for toggle 8 ...

Dream Theater - Octovarium

How do I program either the Kronos or NanoPad 2 so that when I play a chord it "holds (sustains) until I play the next chord. I've programmed two chords (in pad mode) using the stereo analogue strings. I'd like to push the first pad on the NanoPad 2 and have it hold without using the sustain pedal ...

Kronos 1.5 Update

I had to run the update twice as well. Works fine now. Sure wish I could install the additional RAM myself. How hard can it be? It seems that some people (myself included) have to run the update twice in order for everything to work. So I would just add….. 12- When powering up look for the OS v ...

Not very happy with this workstation - seriously?

I must politely disasgree with you. I too, own a Motif XS and there is absolutely NO comparison between the two keyboards for "overall" sonic sound and funtionality. In fact, the ONLY reason that I'm keeping my Motif is that I've got a lot of money tied up in "3rd party" patches that come in handy ...

Agreed.

This is a tired topic.. To use the term "vs" implies they compete in the same market place and they do not.
EvilDragon wrote:Jupiter-80 and Kronos aren't really comparable keyboards, since J-80 is not a workstation at all.
