I'd see it as a bit of a talking shop as well as just requests for programs and combis. For example, what is the keyboard sound in Black Velvet by Alannah Myles? Is there anything in the Kronos that would be a good starting point to getting that sound if I fancy tweaking it myself? I'd say a sub ...

Proposal for a sub-forum - Sounds for recreating songs

Hi all This topic has come up a few times before, sometimes the discussion heads off in the direction of making it a project to be hosted externally with a database and all sorts of setup and maintenance to be taken on by one or more people. Not surprisingly in spite of the good intentions, it never ...

Such as the DW8000 & Poly800 8) I had a Poly800. I can't think of any sound that it made that I'd ever want to hear again. Maybe if I was a better programmer I could have got something more out of it, but I don't think it would have been anything that compared with the synths that Korgs have made ...

I think Korg will announce a "Punishment Mode" so that whenever somebody moans about something on the Kronos, a random feature will be deleted from their own one ;-)

Did anyone see him when he was on the bill for The Stranglers notorious gig in Battersea Park 1978? I remember him doing a song (can't remember which one) and during the instrumental part, every member of the band played every instrument. They were literally running around the stage replacing each ...

Very soon i will be releasing a new Sampled Set of Electric Guitars for Kronos. Hi Nedim. This might be out of scope for the Guitar set that you are working on, but if you could have a go at the "Les Paul More Lennon" patch from IK Multimedia's Sonik Synth you'd make me a very happy man :D Cheers ...

did you have the SRM update applied on your octave cat? That was the thing that made it Duophonic (wow, 2 notes!!) wasn't it? Mine came with that already on board. I very rarely used it in that mode, it always sounded a bit thin and seeing as I was usually competing with a guitarist with 2 Marshall ...

My first synth, the Octave Cat had no sounds at all, that's why to this day it's still the one synth that I can program well, I had no choice but to learn it.

That Lennon quote was a joke, you do realise that don't you?

Ringo's very unique style can mostly be attributed to him being a left handed drummer playing on a right handed kit. That's one of the main reasons that most drummers cannot accurately reproduce his playing when covering Beatles songs.

So yet another person has come out with the "Ringo was rubbish", "Ringo was the least talented member of the Beatles" myth. A couple of points for you to consider if you want to break away from the herd for a moments.... When the Beatles were getting ready to record their first album and needed to ...

great idea, Maybe you can ask korgpatches.com if they can open a 'Kronos Song presets' section for that purpose. That would save a couple of you the trouble of spending lots of hours building a comparable sound sharing site. Seeing as this is intrinsically linked to these forums, wouldn't it be ...

If they will take responsiblity then I imagine that will be reflected in their price and it won't end up as cheap as we would like.

At the end of gigs with the Rhodes, while the drummer was busy anyway, my other bandmates always got that absent view avoiding any look at the packed EP besides me. I'm glad I can carry my Kronos 73 anywhere, anytime. That sounds familiar. I had that problem with my Wurli, and then made ...

Because I have started to gig with the Kronos and the Mk2 is a bit too much for some situations... esp when all I have is a hand cart and the metro ;) Fair enough. I had a feeling that would be your answer, but I guess sometimes in a one stop shop, compromises have to be made. The Kronos 88 is a ...

I think you have your answer there in your own conclusion, why do you want to replace something that you already have and love, with an emulation on the Kronos?
