Running Multiple NanoKontrol 2s

I have just bought a Nanokontrol 2 which (after a particularly nasty fight), I have managed to get to run in either DAW and CC controller modes. I quite like the idea of getting a second one to allow me to have a Nanokontroller permanently set up in DAW mode to run Cubase, with the other one in CC ...

The way to do this is to export the file to your pc and open it in Audacity (or another wave editor). You can change the pitch up or down about two semitones. Save it and then reimport it into the Kross. Beyond a tone you'll get some audible artefacts, so it isn't sensible to go further unless you ...

You can't do this with an audio file within the Kross. However, you can export the WAV file to a PC and load it into a wave editor such as Audacity (which is freeware), change the pitch, speed or both. Save as a WAV file and reimport it into you Kross. job done!

Actually, the Kross is perfect.

You can load a WAV backing track and simply play piano over it and sing. These are commercially available from a number of sites.

No programming is required.

I don't think what you are proposing is possible. However, your question suggests that the volume of the backing tracks is uneven and that they have not been normalised - ie the different tracks are not even in volume levels. When the professionals master audio they "normalise" it. In other words ...

Switching off the damper effect on the sustain pedal

I have figured how to use the Sustain pedal to act as an alternate modulation source and got it to work like the switches 1 and 2 to control different parameters - such as effect depth, filters and LFOs. However, I can't see anywhere where you can turn the sustain effect off. It always runs with ...

Thanks for your feedback Dan. It is really helpful to get a response direct from the "horse's mouth", so to speak. I'm sure that Korg values it's customers, so, I'll take this opportunity to provide a bit of feedback and hopefully some constructive criticism, if I may. "Obtuse" is not quite the word ...

Much obliged. It is the bit about the gates triggering while hands are still on the keys that I was missing and I can now see why I wouldn't notice much difference on the effects that I used. Your explanation makes it Crystal clear. Many thanks. I read and re-read the manual and this has been ...

Gate 1 and gate 2 difference?

I actually own a kross but there seem to be more kronos owners and both synths share these features.l have therefore posted here in the hope that more people might be able to provide an answer to my question. I have used both gate 1 and gate 2 settings in the effects to gate a reverb and a flanger ...

My understanding is that answer is "no", because the format is different. I believe that the Kromatool can be downloaded from the Internet it will import stufflike you are suggesting into the Krome. Some of the samples from there can be converted will run in the Kross, but a brief glance suggests ...

The Kross has loads of really useable piano sounds (and a lot more) and the option of a weighted 88 key keyboard if you go for the 88 rather than the 61 key version. I added a sustain pedal and it's good enough for my piano lessons and recording. The pianos (along with everything else) is a bit dry ...

Korg Kross - are the sounds sample based?

The diagram in the Kross manual showing the signal flow shows two oscillators going through the usual filters, LFOS, Envelope generators, amps etc to create and tweak the sound. This would suggest that it is using the oscillators to create and filter the sounds (pure subtractive synthesis). However ...

Start with the Shakuhachi patch and change the reverb in P-MXF2 to "plate". Change the reverb length to about 6 seconds and as you start to play, mess with the mod wheel. That should get you somewhere close.

P-PITCH EG RESET AMS

I am working my way through the manual with a view to learning how to program the Kross properly - rather than by simply pushing buttons and hoping to get close to a sound I want. The videos on Youtube are great for the basic stuff, but the manual and parameter guide were written in a foreign ...
