Are the sounds normal when in Program mode? Because if that's the case, it's just because you're not using the effects from Program mode when you use the program in Sequencer/Combi mode.

You could try in-ear monitors for yourself. The thing you have to bear in mind is that the rest of your band may want to hear your keyboards through the DI anyway, i know that my band's vocalist relies on my keyboards a lot for his performance.

The only way i can think to do that, is have a separate program with your different effect, and use the switch to advance to the next program.

The only thing i can think of, is to make sure your software is accessing the correct input device. As you have stated your soundcard can offer numerous ways to connect the keyboard, so just make sure that you're using the same input to record with as you are to connect your keyboard.

The instrument you are referring to is called a clavinet: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=DmVBN7EGCVs I know my Triton Extreme has a couple of programs for it, but i guess you'll just have to find out by looking around. If not, i think your only option would be to take some sort of guitar sound and ...

You can simply use an audio jack output of your keyboard, and send that into the line-in/microphone input of your laptop.

Pressing the Record button on your transport controls will save a combi.
Also, check in your Global settings to make sure you don't have any memory write-protected.

I know the person who posted this probably isn't around any more, but for anyone else who's having the problem of Combis sounding different to Programs, it's probably just a simple case of copying the effects from the program to the combi.

I use a guitar channel select switch as a footswitch for my Extreme, it looks something like this http://www.woodbrass.com/images/woodbrass/HUGHES+&+KETTNER+PEDALIER+SIMPLE+SWITCH.JPG I use it to advance the combi by one, for playing live so i don't have to stop playing to change combi. It works ...
