Pro-Tools is infamous for not liking other gear. The best way to use MIDI in Pro-Tools is to use the actual MIDI ins and outs of your Digidesign interface. You may get it working otherwise for a while, but one day it will stop working for no apparent reason.

Which interface do you have? I worked at GC briefly and purchased the floor model with my GC discount. Thats the only way I could have afforded it, or any synth for that matter. I'd love a Virus too, but I think they too much money into aesthetics to keep the price high.
